I spent my last week in the USA at a Dance Recess. We camped in the foothills of the Sierras, stayed cool in the water in the 40 degree heat and danced until stupid o’clock in the morning. I have never experienced anything quite like it.
Did I mention I spent a few days in Mexico, learning about traditional Pueblan cuisine? No? It was glorious, as you might guess, and I am now going to proceed to rub it in just that little bit more by showing all the yummy things I made and ate and the beautiful place I stayed. If you are interested, the course was run by the lovely Jon and Estela of Mexican Home Cooking.
I am so happy to be here after months of planning and preparing and I can’t wait to explore my new home. Yesterday was absolutely crazy, in a very good way. There were many introductions, including one of the most hilarious reactions I have ever had to my choice of ‘major’, lots of new faces (and a few not-so-new), much laughter and general fun times. Bring on today!
Oh, and have a photo of the dress I wore…

Today was the big move, or the start of it at least. I won’t arrive in Santa Cruz until tomorrow, but the bulk of my journey is now done! I am lucky enough to be joined on my journey by Palge, so he may pop up here from time to time.
