Keep Dancing!

I spent my last week in the USA at a Dance Recess. We camped in the foothills of the Sierras, stayed cool in the water in the 40 degree heat and danced until stupid o’clock in the morning. I have never experienced anything quite like it.

Double Trouble: Santa Cruz

Two outfits today: one for the daytime, one for the evening. This quarter I have been taking part in CruzFit with my flatmates, a scheme that encourages UCSC students to get fit by tracking their exercise goals and achievements. Those who finish get a CruzFit T-shirt as a reward. In all truthfulness I didn’t change my routine at all, but I can tell you that I have racked up around 80 hours of dancing over the last 8 weeks! The evening was taken up by the ILC Farewell party – again this was a¬†bitter-sweet¬†occasion, especially as one of my flatmates is amongst those leaving at the end of this quarter (the clever cookie is only going and graduating early!) but I had a lovely night xx

On the Mend

I’ve been feeling a tad poorly for the last week, so no photos from my first few days back in Santa Cruz, but I’m recovering and hence I’m also back to doing all the things I want to be doing. Including lots of dancing – I’ve definitely missed the blues scene over the last month and I’m so happy to be seeing everyone again xx

So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu

Tonight was more than a little bittersweet. On the plus side, I spent a lovely evening with all the wonderful people I have met whilst living at the ILC and we all got to get dressed up 1920s style for our Great Gatsby themed party, but on the other hand the night was really about saying goodbye to those who won’t be coming back next quarter. It’s a strange feeling, thinking about coming back to Santa Cruz in January and not seeing those people almost every day. Bon voyage! xx
